Comodo Firewall Pro introduces the next evolution in computer security: Default Deny Protection (DDP™). What is DDP? Most security programs maintain a list of known malware, and use that list to decide which applications and files shouldn’t access a PC. The problem here is obvious. What if the list of malware is missing some entries, or isn’t up to date?

DDP fixes this problem to ensure complete security. The firewall references a list of over two million known PC-friendly applications. If a file that is not on this safe-list knocks on your PC’s door, the Firewall immediately alerts you to the possibility of attacking malware. All this occurs before the malware infects your computer. It’s prevention-based security, the only way to keep PCs totally safe.

Agnitum is suspending support for Outpost at the end of 2016. Sucks because I have a lifetime license and it works great.

It sucks big time, indeed. I paid for a lifetime license which, in the end, only lasted a few years.

Presumptuous much? Maybe that’s what they meant. Perhaps you’re “teh” clown.

Lifetime means LIFETIME, as in MY lifetime.

Trudor is right… it refers to the span of the programs development… you can still use the program even if its discontinued… idiots…

Tinywall will block all TWAIN communications and you cant set it to allow them either, but other than that its a good firewall.

Automatic updates should be standard on any firewall or anti virus otherwise they are not secure and not even worth installing in the first place… it’s like giving you a free car with no steering wheel.

I would like to see Binisoft’s Windows Firewall Control, it is like TinyWall. You can also donate 10$ and get the registered version which is great, you get a notice for every connection and much more info than TinyWall and it is my best choise for the moment, since it is practically Windows Firewall.
Btw, Bitdefender free and Windows Firewall Control is a great and (almost) free solution with almost zero impact on performance.

Sorry but Microsoft have every base covered now, making even a free AV a thing of the past. Windows Firewall is solid when setup properly. Defender is awesome when kept up to date.

I agree. Microsoft Defender is really good, but sometimes it is a better idea to have some diversity in an office. Having 1 security software means if a virus found a security hole in that antivirus/firewall, it will infect the entire office.

I came here because Win Defender firewall will not work. Get error code 0x8007045b when attempt to load default settings. Loaded AVG free with 60 day trial PC tuneup. Unfortunately AVG appears to have gone nbg.

running win 10 pro 64bit Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299. All updates to 22/4/1018 Safe mode OK normal mode will occasionally give disk 100% use when little action. It is not possible to reinstall win Defender because it is built into the full win 10 program. Nor do any of their (MS) troubleshooters sort it out. You would think that if a program of MS build can report a code error then the troubleshooter could repair things. Sorry to be gripping here about MS however the comments above misrepresent MS ability in my experience.
